More Quilts and More Time

First I have to say that I truly LOVE to sew - embroidery, cross-stitch, quilting, sewing in general. I have been sewing since I was a little girl. For the longest time I could sew faster by hand than by machine thanks to my grandmother, who taught me to sew by hand so I knew the basics before ever letting me touch a machine!

Sewing is truly a passion of mine and always has been! It is my comfort and my release. With that said I am carving out more time to focus on this so I can do what I am passionate about! Some of this will be for my own family - my kids, my dear husband (who has been amazing about being my support in helping me find time to do what I love), and myself. Others will be for gifts for extended family - my mom, my sister-in-law, close friends. I will also be doing some for sale and hope to be able to have enough to do some craft shows this fall and winter.

I want to be able to do some more classes so I can learn more techniques. I will be practicing and refining my skills - getting better as I go! Hey I just did my first free-motion quilting this past weekend and I am currently in the middle of binding my first bed-sized quilt. Yes on my personal small machine! I know to do this I need to dedicate some time on a regular, even daily basis.

Twin size quilt for my oldest - "Pinwheel Garden"

This is pre-binding on my latest quilt. It is for my oldest daughter. She got to pick the fabrics! I will do some more close ups for it once I am done.

I have over a dozen more quilts already planned, but there is always room for more and custom orders!

My kids also want in on the action! You will see them helping me from time to time. My older kids already want to start making their own quilts and other items as well. So maybe if there is enough interest at some point I will do some kids workshops... Ideas, Ideas, Ideas...
